Solway Group holds numerous developed nickel and cobalt deposits in Indonesia, located mainly in Sulawesi Island. The current project in development - PT Aquila Cobalt Nickel, located in Morowali, Central Sulawesi, will unlock the potential of these rich nickel and cobalt ore reserves.
In support of the Indonesian Government's plan to establish Indonesia as a world center of EV manufacturing, Solway Group's long-term strategy in Indonesia includes the potential development of processing facilities for nickel intermediates such as nickel matte and MHP to produce battery-grade materials.
Solway Group continues. undertaking site works for Aquila Nickel Project Phase 1 - RKEF operation in Morowali, Central Sulawesi. With a target to commence production in 2024/2025, total output reaching almost 27 000 tons of matte annually. Phase 2 of the project, an HPAL expansion to process limonite ore, is undergoing in-house evaluation and preparation.
Our key operations are located in Sulawesi Island, in 3 regions - North Konawe, South-East Sulawesi, and Central Morowali. We continue to look at opportunities to grow our presence in the region.
Total available nickel resources supported by JORC resource statement for Phase 1 of the Aquila Project within the nickel properties of the Group stand at - 50 mln wmt of 1.70% Ni.
The JORC confirmed resource base for the HPAL expansion of the Aquila Project is more than 50 mln wmt
